Achievements

It has been a wonderful first semester. With so many things to be proud of, one of our greatest achievements was winning the $2000 Art prize from Toyota, in the Dream Car Project.  This money will be used to update the table tops in our Art Room and purchase more art supplies. I was incredibly proud of the students winning this award for the school. It was such a lovely surprise to have Toyota come out and hand our student representatives a giant cheque.

In the background, you can also see a giant set of wings. This was our communal art piece- where every student and staff member contributed to creating a feather for the wings. The symbolism behind the piece was that without each other- we are not as strong- much like a bird cannot fly if it is missing feathers.  But if we all come together we can soar to the greatest heights.

This piece became the backdrop- as every one had their photo taken with a giant set of wings. It was a very popular location on open night too- with grandparents and visiting friends taking advantage of the picture opportunity.

Open Night

Did you come and visit us

during

Open night this year?

If not, you missed some fabulous displays in the Art Room. We had work displayed from Grade Prep to Year 6. The Prep’s displayed their very first portraits and paintings which were completed in Weeks 1 and Week 2 of school. (These were their very first attempts at drawing and painting)

The senior students had hung their painted Self Portraits, demonstrating their ability to use varying shades of black and white.

While our middle school was keen to display their Garden Collages. It was a great night- filled with prospective new parents and their children and current students, who were keen to show off their work.
